The current trend in Bridal fashion is SEPARATES! The best way to make for a very happy bridal party is to allow your maids to select their own look! Choose a colour or a theme and allow your maids to select an outfit that flatters their particular figure and makes them feel the most comfortable with themselves. They could choose to buy a dress, or a corset and full skirt, or a long sleeved top with a slim skirt! This will ultimately make them look that much better and make the day that much easier for you. Another option that is sure to make them happy, is to select a dress style that you would like and allow your maids to choose the colour that they feel looks the best on them, or represents them personally. Or you could even choose one hue and allow your maids to select the variation of this particular hue that they like the most. It could be really fun to arrange your entire wedding in this manner! If you would like a more formal look for your wedding, another choice that will at least make your maids feel like they are some part of the selection process is to select a few styles that fit your vision and to have them vote on the style that they like the best. Selecting A Gown Style: You can use silhouette to enhance your figure type and use details to balance the overall appearance of your body type.
Silhouette style: 1. Sheath is a narrow form fitting most suitable for tall slender or petite figures; it may or may not have a waistline seam. 2. Princess has vertical shaped seams over the bust and to the hem; it slims and creates the appearance of height. 3. Fitted Bodice and full skirt ranges from softly to fully gathered skirts and are flattering to most figures. Neckline, waistline and sleeve styles: You can use the neckline, waistline and sleeve style to flatter your body type. Budget: Figure out how much money you want to spend on the gown It is a time saver in the selection of the gown. Colour: Colour does far more than influence your mood and image. Colour used in a skilful manner can help you look your very best. They can create illusions of size. Cool colours of blue, green and violet are slimming. Warm colours of red yellow and orange makes you look bigger. Brighter and shiny colours also increase the appearance of size while duller colours have a slimming affect. Fittings: When it comes to shopping for your wedding gown, start from the layer closest to your body up. For a proper fit, its imperative that you wear the underwear you plan to wear with the gown for the first measurement and all fittings. Also, it is important to wear the shoes that you will be wearing on your wedding day to determine the desired length of the finished gown (some hems are virtually impossible to change after the gown is completed; you will save time and money). Don’t wear makeup for any fittings (to help reduce the chance of smudging the gown). Picture Perfect Tips:
1. Apply make-up in natural light if you plan to take photos outside. |
